Dubito ergo cogito; cogito ergo sum (I doubt, therefore I educe; I think therefore I am) is a philosophic Latin statement proposed by René Descartes, a French philosopher and scientist. Essentially, Descartes philosophical system was based on the notion of methodical doubt, that is, to doubt on the spur of the moment foreverything that one could not be absolutely certain of.
